What is Paintball?
Paintball is a combination of tag, hide & seek, and capture the flag. Each player is equipped with a paintball marker that shoots paintballs and the object of the game is to eliminate your opponents by "tagging" them with a paintball. Paintball is recognized as one of the world's most exciting outdoor participation sports. Paintball is played by people from all walks of life. Women and men, both young and old, can compete equally. Physical size and strength are not as important as intelligence and determination as Paintball stresses tactics and teamwork.
Is Paintball Safe?
Statistics show that paintball is one of the safest sports around. Like all action sports though, following the safety rules is mandatory. Goggles must be worn at all times and Barrel Covers must be used when coming off the field or in the staging areas. All players are given full instructions on safety regulations and game rules. All games are supervised by trained referees who strictly enforce the rules.
Does It Hurt When I Get Shot?
Being hit with a paintball is like getting hit with a tennis ball. Unlike a tennis ball, paintball pellets are designed to break open upon impact and therefore cause very little, if any, pain. The player will experience a slight stinging sensation that will go away within a few seconds. Many players are apprehensive about getting shot, but once the game begins and your adrenaline starts pumping, most people do not even feel a hit.
This Is My First Time Playing, Will I Be "Out-Gunned"?
No. Paintball is so popular due to the fact that it is easy to learn to play. Men and women, the young and the old alike can compete together equally because the key to winning is communication and team work. The ability to think and act under pressure is important, not an individual's size, strength, age or experience.
Can I Bring My Own Paintballs?
No. First Prize Paintball has a FIELD PAINT ONLY policy. This means you are not allowed to bring paintballs that you purchased elsewhere to our facility. You must purchase paintballs from us. Anyone caught using or attempting to bring there own paintballs to the playing fields will be asked to leave and no refund will be issued.
What Is The Minimum Age To Play?
To play paintball you must be at least 12 years of age or older. Anyone playing paintball must fill out a waiver form. Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign there waiver form.
How Long Do the Games Last?
Each game lasts a maximum of 10 minutes. A game ends when one team eliminates all opposing players or hangs the other team's flag. Depending upon how quickly a team accomplishes these goals, a game can be considerably shorter than 10 minutes in duration. You can be assured that you will play several games in a day.
When Can I Play Paintball?
The playing fields are open April thru December. Games are not played if it rains, during thunderstorms, if it's snowing or if the temperature is below 35 degrees. Weekday reservations can be scheduled by reserving a private party. Private reservations can be reserved by contacting us for available dates and times.
Is The Field Indoor or Outdoor?
First Prize Paintball offers outdoor playing fields.
What Should I Wear?
You will be running, jumping, and crawling in an outdoor area. Therefore it is recommended that you wear loose, comfortable clothing such as long sleeve tops, sweatshirts, long pants such as jeans or sweatpants. Dark colors are preferable as you will be trying to conceal your location in your quest to eliminate your opponents. It is also recommended that you wear comfortable footwear, such as sneakers or hiking boots.
Do Paintballs Stain Clothing?
Paintballs are water-soluble, non-toxic, hypoallergenic and biodegradable. Any paint marks will wash out of your clothing in a normal wash cycle. Paint on your skin and hair will wash out easily during a shower.
Can I Use My Own Equipment?
Yes. All players may use their own paintball markers provided that they chronograph at the field limit of 280 FPS (feet per second). Players are responsible for ensuring that their gun functions properly and meets all certifications. Personal markers must also have a suitable barrel blocking device (barrel plug, barrel condom, etc.) in place at all times that the player is not on the playing field. Personal goggle systems must be of the type that is approved for paintball and be in good condition with the lens showing no cracks or fractures. Personal N2 air tanks must have a current hydro test date or they cannot be filled.
What is a Private Party?
A private party is when you book a specific day and time to play paintball with just the people you want to bring. Private parties are usually reserved for birthday parties, bachelor & bachelorette, corporate outings, church groups or fraternities & sororities. Any person or group can book a private party. To have a private party you must have a minimum of 10 people. All players must be at least 12 years of age or older. We offer two party packages. Package one is $45.00 per person and includes everything you need to play. It gives you field admission, equipment rental, 500 paintballs per person and all day air. You also get to play for 3 hours with just your group and you get your own personal reff. Package number two is $35.00 per person and includes field admission, equipment rental, 200 paintballs per person and all day air. You also get to play for 3 hours with just your group and you get your own personal reff. There is no discount in price if rental equipment is not needed.
How Do I Make A Reservation For A Private Party?
Making a reservation is easy. First you need to pick a date that you would like to have your party. Than make sure you have the minimum of 10 people required to reserve a party. Than you need to contact us via e-mail or phone and see if we have any times available for the date you are interested in. If we have the date and time that you want you can reserve you party. To reserve your time and date we will need your name, telephone number, a number of how many people will be coming, a number of how many rental packages will be needed and which party package you would like. You will also need to provide a credit card number to secure your date. Nothing is charged to your card. If you need to cancel your party we require 24 hour notice. If no notice is given a $100.00 cancellation fee will be charged to the card. Your party is not booked until this info is received.
